We are on the doorstep of another holiday season, and there are countless reasons to be thankful. Yet you can’t help but be a little preoccupied by your upcoming vein treatment with Precision Vascular. Sure, you know better than anyone that this appointment is long overdue. A condition that started as nothing more than unsightly varicose veins can’t be ignored anymore and is accompanied by constant swelling and the realization that having legs and feet that are achy, heavy and tired isn’t normal. But in your mind, this is hardly something to be thankful for.

The first thing to realize is that vein disease affects more than 20 million Americans. So, you are not alone. Secondly, while everyone’s journey is different, what many people can agree on—especially after consulting with their doctor—is that vein treatment isn’t scary. And as they look forward, they’re more thankful than they thought.

Vein treatment can quickly alleviate the symptoms you’re facing. Call 866-552-4866 to schedule with Precision Vascular, part of the StrideCare multispecialty network. Appointment

Be Thankful: Say Goodbye to Leg Pain from Vein Issues

You’re doing the right thing by getting vein treatment. Here are a few reasons why:

Reason #1: The chance to be symptom-free

If you’ve suffered from poor vein health for a long time, then you know how uncomfortable and life-altering vein disease symptoms can be. Perhaps you struggle to play with your kids or grandkids in the front yard for extended periods or work effectively at your job. Maybe going to the beach, traveling, or sleeping comfortably throughout the night simply isn’t possible anymore.

Not everyone experiences symptoms at first, and not everyone experiences the same symptoms, but a few of the common ones you can eliminate from your life through safe, easy, and effective vein treatment include the following:

  • Feelings of achiness
  • Visible spider veins or varicose veins
  • Heaviness or fullness in your legs
  • Burning, throbbing, itching, and swelling
  • Skin discoloration
  • Restless legs
  • Cold legs
  • Muscle cramps
  • Numb legs
  • Discomfort when sitting or standing
  • Bruising

Reason #2: Nonsurgical procedures

It wasn’t that long ago when the best option for vein treatment was a surgical procedure known as vein stripping. With this method, doctors physically strip and remove the diseased vein. Sure, it helped women and men alike overcome symptoms such as achy or tired legs and intense pain that worsened after sitting or standing for too long. But with that relief also came lengthy recovery times and unsightly surgical scars, and many patients worried about complications and high recurrence rates.

Thankfully, modern medicine has advanced to where doctors can treat a diseased vein through nothing more than a small skin nick. Procedures are held in an outpatient setting under local anesthetic with no sedation, meaning that recovery times have been practically reduced to nil, and many patients experience immediate relief.

Reason #3: The power of insurance

Having insurance is a reason to be thankful during vein treatment. Many people suffering from vein disease determine whether or not they will seek medical help based on whether or not their insurance will consider it medically necessary or just a cosmetic enhancement. The good news with vein treatment is that insurance can and has been shown to cover the cost of treatment. With that said, the cost of your treatment will vary depending on the type of treatment, the extent of treatment needed to achieve your desired results, and your health insurance coverage.

Reason #4: An experienced team of vein experts

Having the right vascular team in your corner is a reason to be thankful, especially if you are experiencing any anxiety over your vein treatment and what that looks like for you. At Precision Vascular, we are open to back-and-forth dialogue with our patients to answer questions, set expectations, and honor their wishes. This puts all questions and answers on the table, avoids unnecessary treatment, and leads to an accurate explanation of the patient’s unique situation. As a result, you know you have an advocate in your corner who gives you a say in your healthcare journey.

Reason #5: Treatment options

As previously stated, modern medicine allows doctors to offer treatments that cater to each patient’s unique needs. A few vein treatments we offer include:

  • Sclerotherapy: A specially formulated chemical solution of sclerosing agents (either in liquid or foam form) is injected into the affected veins. This solution irritates the vein walls and causes veins to collapse and vanish.
  • Radiofrequency Ablation: A thin catheter is inserted into the vein through a small puncture that does not leave a scar. Under ultrasound guidance, the catheter is guided up into the great saphenous vein in the thigh or the small saphenous vein in the calf. The energy is delivered to the inside of the vein, heating and sealing it closed.
  • Microfoam Ablation: With this procedure, a special microfoam is injected into your affected veins to relieve symptoms without the use of heat or tumescent. The foam fills the desired section of the vein, and it collapses.

Reason #6: Support system

Be thankful for your reliable support system. Having family and friends to help you cope and manage expectations can be a valuable resource before, during, and after vein treatment. Each step you take with your vein doctor provides hope and brings you closer to overcoming vein disease and reclaiming the life you want. If you know someone who has had vein treatment, talk to them about your concerns and ask them what tips and tricks worked for them whenever they undergo similar procedures.
